1. About BuiltWeb

BuiltWeb ("we", "us", "our") provides web development, design, branding and related digital services. These terms govern your use of our website at builtweb.co.uk and any services you commission from us.

By commissioning a build or purchasing an add-on, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use our services.

2. What we offer

BuiltWeb builds websites for a fixed, one-off price. There is no subscription and no recurring fee for your website.

  • Basic service site (£300): a professional site of up to 5 pages with mobile-optimised design, a contact form and SEO foundations.
  • E-commerce site (£750):everything in a basic site plus a full online shop — product catalogue, cart, checkout and payment gateway setup.

Optional add-ons (for example extra pages, branding, booking, galleries or lead capture) can be attached to either base package for a one-off fee. Prices for the base packages and add-ons are shown on our website and confirmed in writing before work begins.

3. Pricing & payment

  1. Fixed pricing: the price for your build is the base package price plus any add-ons you choose, as confirmed in writing before we start.
  2. Payment terms: a 50% deposit is payable on project start. The remaining 50% is payable on launch (the moment the site is made live at your domain, or delivered ready-to-launch if you are handling deployment). We invoice you directly; there is no automatic or recurring billing.
  3. Deposit: the deposit is non-refundable once work has commenced.
  4. Hosting:hosting is included free of charge for as long as you would like us to host your site — there is no monthly hosting fee. If you later choose to leave, you keep your website and we will point your domain back to your registrar so you can move it. From that point you arrange hosting with a provider of your choice and pay whatever terms that provider sets; our free hosting applies only while we host the site for you.
  5. VAT: all prices are exclusive of VAT unless stated. VAT will be added at the prevailing rate where applicable.

4. Post-launch tweaks

Every build includes 30 days of minor tweaks after launch at no additional charge. Tweaks mean content edits, small visual adjustments and bug fixes — not new features, new pages or redesigns. After this window, additional work is billable at our standard rates.

5. Cancellation & refunds

Builds are delivered in two stages. If you cancel before the project starts, the deposit is fully refunded. Once work has commenced, the deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel after launch, there is nothing to cancel — you have paid and owned the files since full payment.

If we fail to deliver a build through our own fault within a reasonable time, we will refund the deposit in full. Delays caused by you (missing content, unresponsive feedback, late approvals) do not trigger a refund.

6. Implementation timelines

We aim to deliver every project promptly, but timelines vary based on complexity, content readiness and your responsiveness. We provide best-effort estimates rather than fixed deadlines.

Some features and add-ons take longer to implement, including but not limited to:

  • E-commerce stores with large product catalogues, custom integrations, payment provider setups, and shipping rules
  • AI-powered features (chatbots, content generation, custom AI integrations) which require configuration and quality testing
  • Custom tools or dashboards requiring back-end development
  • Multi-location SEO with extensive area coverage

We will keep you updated by email at every stage. Delays caused by waiting for content, assets, approvals or third-party services from you do not affect the agreed price.

7. Intellectual property

Your content: you retain full ownership of content, branding, images, copy, logos and assets you provide to us. This never changes.

Your website: on full payment of the total fee (deposit plus final payment), you own the website outright. We will transfer all source files, assets and deliverables to you within 14 days of full payment and completed launch. Our proprietary tools, templates and component libraries remain our property but we grant you a perpetual, royalty-free licence to use and modify the delivered build for your business.

8. Your responsibilities

  1. You must provide accurate information when commissioning a build.
  2. You must promptly provide any content, assets, brand materials, login credentials or approvals we need to do our work. Significant delays on your side may extend project timelines.
  3. You confirm that all content, images, logos and materials you provide to us are owned by you or properly licensed, and do not infringe any third-party rights.
  4. You must not use our services for any unlawful purpose, to host or distribute illegal, harmful, defamatory, infringing, obscene or hateful content, or to send unsolicited bulk email (spam).

9. Hosting & uptime

Where we host your site (included free of charge), we use industry-standard infrastructure and aim for 99.9% uptime. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance, third-party outages, force majeure events and circumstances beyond our reasonable control may cause downtime. We are not liable for any losses, lost revenue or damages resulting from downtime.

We take regular backups of customer data on hosted sites but you are encouraged to keep your own copies of any critical content.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BuiltWeb's total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the services, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to us for the relevant project.

We are not liable for:

  • Loss of profit, revenue, business, anticipated savings, goodwill or opportunity
  • Loss or corruption of data beyond our reasonable backup procedures
  • Indirect, special or consequential losses of any kind
  • Failures caused by third-party services, your hosting provider, your domain registrar, or any party outside our reasonable control
  • Losses arising from content you provide or third-party content displayed on your site

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

11. Termination by us

We may suspend or terminate a project without refund of work already commenced if:

  • You materially breach these terms and fail to remedy the breach within 14 days of written notice
  • You use the service for illegal, abusive or fraudulent purposes
  • You become insolvent, enter administration or cease trading

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify in-flight projects of material changes by email. Your continued use of the service after the change date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Privacy & data protection

We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using our services you consent to such processing and warrant that all data you provide is accurate.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
